This following information is provided to give researchers a
list of possible research sources for Lincoln County
genealogy. This information can be books or documents, such
as wills, diaries, census indexes, obituaries,
newsclippings, etc. Access to sources of information is not
always readily available through public sources. Here a
person who owns a research tool or resource may list what
they have available and what they will provide on request.
Copyrighted materials can be listed but the copyright must
be observed. In such cases, it will be required to have the
permission of the copyright holder to use the materials in
this way. Copyrights do not keep information from being
provided. If you desire to be listed here as a resource.
Please be careful how you provide information from
copyrighted materials.
Anyone who has books or documents relating to Lincoln County
- would you like to do look-ups?? We need lookup
volunteers. This should not involve a lot of time, but
would be very helpful to others looking for genealogy
information in Lincoln county. If you are willing to help,
please send an email with information such as title or
description of the reference material you own or can access.
Some items such as old letters or wills, etc. contain lots
of genealogical information and are a valuable resource!
Thanks, Karla
Mahlberg at
, County Coordinator.

LINCOLN COUNTY LOOKUP VOLUNTEERS
Terry W.
Blevins
NEW EMAIL ADDRESS: twbndee@yahoo.com
SNAILMAIL : PO Box 353, Hugo
CO 80821.
I would like to introduce Terry
Blevins. He is a Lincoln County historian and resident.
He has been "researching Lincoln County
newspapers that are on microfilm or that I've
found in old sheds, basements, etc., digging out local
history as well as death and marriage information."
Terry has read everything
available between 1890 and 1914. He is transcribing all
death and marriage references that he finds, and
many other historical facts of interest. He has thousands
of files on disk. Terry is also walking the county
cemeteries, copying information from tombstones
and adding to a database. This project is about 80
percent complete. Terry plans to continue this project
comparing death information in his databases to help
locate unmarked graves.
Terry, upon request of the
Lincoln County Clerk , recently completed and update of
the old "brief" county history kept on file at the
office for people making inquiries. This is available
from the county clerk or from Terry
for the
asking.
Terry does not charge for his
services at this time, although he gladly accepts
donations, and does ask for reimbursement of copy and
mailing expenses.
Thank you, Terry, for your
generous offer of help!
When requesting a lookup be sure to
include the county name, title or description of resource,
and specific information that you are
seeking.
