Viola, "widow of Charles" proved up a quarter in 19, 6N 48W in 1913.

In 1880 Smith County Kansas - the same Beaver precinct as the Carpenter/Northrop families, George Gripton is 31, Adda A. 32, Charles R. 7, and David H. 3.

"Adelaide's husband moved to Joplin, Missouri in 1900, leaving her behind.
Her house in Smith County, Kansas burned in April, 1908. She then moved to Colorado and proved up on a homestead herself."

In 1900 C.R. is out in California, working as a servant, but is back in Smith County in 1905, with Adilade 58, D.H. 27 and C.R. 31.

In 1900 Smith County "Adalino" born March 1847 in New York, said she's had five kids, four living.  She's with David Nov 1877, and his sister Sella Nov 1880 and Pauline May 1886 - all Kansas.

 Charles R. Gripton buried in Fairview Cemetery, Smith County, Kansas - FindAGrave  123365032 has no dates - and neither do A. Gripton and George Gripton in the same cemetery. 

Adelaid "Grifiton", 63, born in New York,  is in Washington County, Colorado - Rock Creek precinct, just south of Charles' claim.  The household preceding is James A. Caldwell - who also had claimed land in 6N 48W

"Stelle" is probably in Yuma County in 1910, married to "Allice" H. Lyon, with Ertlyn H. 6, Melanie 5, Katherine H. 4, Lucias C. 3 -, and Gripton 1, born in Colorado.

Altice Homer Lyon registered in Smith County, working for the Hayes Lyon Lumber Co in Harlan.

In 1930 Altice and Estelle, both 49, are in Greeley, Colorado, with divorced daughter Catherine H. Lyon, 24, kids David J. 9 , Evadel 6, and Donna J. Claussen 2.

One tree said Joanne Estella Gripton was born Nov 16, 1880 in Smith County, Kansas, and died July 10, 1933 in Arapahoe County, Colorado.

Catherine Hildreth Lyon True, 78, of 15920 Weld County Road 5, Mead, died Wednesday at Longmont Hospital.

She was born Feb. 15, 1906, in Smith County, Kan. She married Carl True Jan. 21, 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Altice Horner and Estelle Gripton Lyon.

She moved to Mead in 1932 from Denver. She was a nurse and a member of the United Methodist Church of Mead.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna J. Groth of Selma, Ore.; three brothers, Erlyn H. Lyon and Wayne G. Lyon both of Denver and Altice D. Lyon of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Mamie Donovan of Valley Center, Kan., Sylvia Stetson of Arcadia, Calif., and Evadell Anderson of Lakewood: six grandchildren: and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Howe Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Jay Harding of Mead United Methodist Church will officiate. The casket will be closed during the service.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Contributions may be made to Mead United Methodist Church.

Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Pauline is married to George Caldwell in 1910 Rockland precinct, Logan County.  She's 24, George W. 28, with Vergil 5, Grace 3, Kansas and Gladys 2, Colorado.

George proved up a quarter in 33, 6N 48W in 1912.  He certainly is the George Caldwell buried in Haxtun.

In 1920 Haxtun Pauline, 33, is widowed, running a millinery store, with Carl V. 15, Pauline G. 13, Gladys E. 12, Lorine E. 4, and Georgia J. 1.

Pauline Caldwell married Thomas J. Heyland August 18, 1923, recorded in Jefferson County, Colorado.  Thomas Joseph Heyland registered in San Diego, working as a carpenter for the City of San Diego, with a permanent address of Haxtun, Colorado.

In 1930 Denver Pauline is married to T.J. Heyland, and real estate broker.  Lorine and Georgia are with them, and Grace is married to Philip Lasher with a son Louis P. 2.

In 1940 Denver Pauline is divorced, working as a clerk in a government housing survey office.

He is married in 1920 Smith County, but his wife is married to someone else in 1930
