Gabriel H. Trefry was born in the county of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, May 13, 1824, son of Benjamin and Deborah (Hatfield) Trefry, both natives of that same county. He grew to manhood there, becoming a shoemaker, which trade he followed for some time after coming to this state in 1853. Upon coming to Michigan he located in Ingham county near Eaton Rapids, where he worked in a shoe shop and also bought eighty acres of land. There he lived until 1868, in which year he came with his family to Ionia county and located at Lyons, where he erected a good store building and engaged in the general merchandise business and has ever since been thus engaged. The store building erected by Mr. Trefry upon locating at Lyons is now occupied by the public library. Mr. Trefry has occupied several different store rooms during the long course of his business career at Lyons, but has remained continuously in business and though now nearly ninety-two years of age is still actively engaged in merchandising, declining to "retire," declaring that he is not yet ready to "rust out" He has done plenty of hard work, but has always taken excellent care of himself and despite his great age is still active and vigorous. Gabriel H. Trefry was married at the age of twenty-two to Mary Brown, daughter of Charles and Abigail (Churchill) Brown, and to this union eight children were born, four sons and four daughters, of whom seven are still living, those besides Mrs. Chubb being Dexter Trefry, Mrs. Deborah Hanchett, Charles Trefry, Mrs. Ellen Vance, Benjamin Trefry and Mrs. Abigail Webber. The mother of these children died twenty-five years ago.

She died November 14, 1961 in Portage County, Ohio in a long-term care hospital.

Sterling W. Trefry married Corabelle A. Suckow, 22, on June 27, 1916 in Chautauqua County, New York. She was the daughter of Edmund Suckow and Minnie G. Archer.

Sterling Worth Trefry registered for WWI in Warren, Ohio, born Feb 27, 1887 at Sterling Colorado, a merchant, married.

May 2, 1946 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania "Mr. and Mrs. Sterling W. Trefry of Garretsville, Ohio, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Ruth Lucille Trefry, to Raymond C. Oswald Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oswald of Mt. Lebanon. Mr. Oswald attended the University of Pittsburgh before entering the United States Army where he served as captain for four and a half years."

Sterling died November 1969 in Collier County, Florida.
Corabelle, born May 13, 1894, died February 18, 1981 in Lee County, Florida.

July 30, 1963 "WARREN, Ohio, July 30 -Private services for Louis Kinderman, formerly of Oak-mont, were held today at the Roberts Memorial Home here. Mr. Kinderman, 71, died of a heart attack yesterday at his home, 311 Central Parkway, Warren. He was one of the organizers of Oakmont American Legion Post 600. He was owner of the Louis Kinderman Industrial Equipment Co. in Niles and served customers in the Pittsburgh area. He also was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Esma Kinderman; two daughters, Mrs. William Dixon, of Warren, and Mrs. Esma Lou Webb, of Palmdale, Calif., a son, Ray, of Warren; a sister, Mrs. Richard Obcrgoenser, of St. Louis; and a brother, Charles E., of Ames, Iowa."

One daughter of Esma might be the Esma K. Webb 1928-1967 buried in Los Angeles County # 35111693.

Shirley J. Kinderman, born February 4, 1926 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, married William G. Dixon on June 15, 1946 iun Trumbull County, Ohio.

Her sister-in-law "Grace Marie Dixon Bloom, 79, passed away August 7, 1994. Grace was born Sept. 12, 1914, in DuBois, Pa., and moved to Akron in 1943 and was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple. She retired from the City of Green School System, resided in Pinellas Park, Fla., for 14 years, and returned to the Akron area, where she lived until her death. Preceded in death by her husband, John Dorsey and grandsons, Sean and Tracy, she is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Ernie and Norma Bloom of the City of Green, Jack and Dorothy Bloom of Frankfort, Ind.; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Robert Troyer of Stow, Grace (Parks) and Albert Caprez of Tallmadge, Donna Fox of the City of Green, Maxine (Stephens) and William Dover of Munroe Falls, Bertha and Dean Doan of Stow, Helen and Donald Scheufler of Sandusky; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Grant and Shirley Dixon of DuBois, Pa.; many nieces and nephews. Shirley was a Nicholas in 1981, and died November 4, 2007.

Marshall is divorced in 1930 Cleveland, 32, a salesman for an engineering company.

Walton in December 1932. He preceded her in death in 1971. Survivors include one sister, Esma Kinderman; a niece, Jane Nicolas; a nephew, Ray Kinderman; and 10 grandnieces and grandnephews. No local services will be held. Memorial services will be held Tuesday in Long Beach, Calif. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of choice.
