Leatitia (Oakley) Russell, son Edward A. Russell, Fleming

Latitia Oakley in 1870 Auglaize County, Ohio, 17, with parents Thomas A. Oakley 57 and Mary 40. She has eight younger siblings.
One brother, who also came to Logan County, is James Calvin Oakley born March 4, 1865 in Auglaize County.

Elizabeth Oakley, born about 1869, married John Miller on July 3, 1887 in Monona County, Iowa.

Laticia Oakley married E.F. Russell in Fremont County Iowa March 31, 1875.
This was Elijah Frank Russell 1853-1876, per one tree.

In 1880 Otoe County, Nebraska, Edward Russell is 60, Emely 50, Hatty 20, Charley 16, Adda 12, Ella 14, and Latitia 27 daughter-in-law has Eddie 4.

Edward -May 30, 1820-September 10, 1899 is buried in Otoe County.

Leatitia was appointed the Fleming postmaster in May 1889.
She held that post until John H. Rogers took over in June 1897.
John H. Rogers timber-claimed a quarter in 8N 50W in 1898.
John was farming in Logan County, in 1900, on the same page as Letitia and Edward Russell. He was born Dec 1836 in New York, married 45 years to Elizabeth October 1838 in Indiana. They have Ernest P. 24 and Celia A. 21, both born in Illinois.
Dan B. Gilbert married Nell Rogers Dec 29, 1904, recorded in Logan County.
"Nettie" R. Gilbert 1879-1966 is buried in Fort Morgan, # 39003560.
Leatitia proved up a quarter in 18, 8N 49W in 1894.
Homer Rogers was in Logan County in 1900, 34, with Myra A. 30 and Guy B. 6. They're in Fort Morgan in 1910, running a general store with Guy 17, and Roy 8.
Lorena Charlotte Rogers married Arch M. Wilsey.
Lorena C. Wilsey is also in Logan County in 1900, married 11 years to Archie M. Wilsey. 46. Thay have Lillian S. 10 and Grant E. 8.
They're back in O'Brien County, Iowa in 1920, Arch 66, Lorena C. 51, and Grant E. 27.
Grant Emmet Wilsey had registered for WWI in Sheldon, Iowa born January 4, 1892 at Fleming Colorady. He's a piano dealer with A.M. Wilsey.

In 1900 Logan County, Edward born Nov 1876 and Letitia Aug 1852, Ohio, are living together. She's had two children, one living.

Letitia married John H. Rogers October 14, 1909, recorded in Logan County.

In 1910 Logan County, John H. Rogers 73 and Letitia 57, both on second marriages, are together.

John is buried in Fort Morgan 1836-1917 # 39003506, with Elizabeth Jane Rogers 1838-1908.

Letitia is back in Monona Iowa in 1920, 56, widowed, sister of Martha J. Oliver 52 born in Ohio.
Martha, daughter of Thomas Oakley and Mary Atkinson, had married George W. Oliver in Monona County June 10, 1884.

Per one tree, Letitia died there October 11, 1921, daughter of Thomas Ambrose Oakley 1813-1868 and Mary Jane Atkinson 1829-1870.


Edward proved up a quarter in 18, 8N 49W in 1905.
In 1910 Logan County, Edward is farming, 34, born in Iowa, married five years to Grace 30, Illinois.
In 1920 they've added Kenneth, 6.

In 1940 Sterling, on Taylor Street, neither Grace nor Edward has an occupation.

Edward 1876-1962 # 55436280 and Grace 1878-1959 are buried in Sterling.
