She and Joseph are buried in Saguache. Joseph W. Beery of Atwood were heirs on a settlement in July 1937, with Joseph and Harley N. Beery both of Atwood. Bernice Beery Kline was a daughter in Denver.

"Joseph William Beery was born in Edom, Virginia, June 9, 1867 and died in Monte Vista, Colorado, November 11, 1949-aged 82 years, 5 months, 2 days.
The family moved to Southern Missouri where Joseph William grew to manhood. He received his education in the country schools and Park College in Missouri. Early in life he united with the Methodist church and until he lost his hearing was very active in church work. He loved music and sang in the choir for many years.
In 1895 he came to the San Luis Valley and was employed as a teacher for several years in Hooper, Bonanza, and Saguache schools. May 9, 1897 he was married to Miss Sallie E. Sanders. To this union two children were born---Bernice Lydia and Harley N. Beery. Mr. Beery operated a barber shop in Saguache for several years and later a jewelry store. From 1914 to 1929 he was postmaster there. Mrs. Beery died in 1922 and Mr. Beery left Saguache and engaged in the mercantile business in Atwood, Colorado.
In 1924 he was married to Mrs. Georgia Bell Gaynor of Center. In 1937 they came to Center where they have lived since that time. Mr. Beery built the Western Auto Store and operated it for some time but for several years has been retired. Always fond of fishing and hunting, he lived a very active life until his health forced him to quit many of his activities. He was a Master Mason---a member of Olive Branch Lodge 32, AF&AM of Saguache.
Mr. Beery was the oldest of ten children, six of whom survive him. Remaining are his wife, Mrs. Georgia Beery of Center; his children, Mrs. Murray Kline of Denver; Harley N. Beery of Sterling; Mrs. Fred Briscoe of Medicine Bow, Wyoming; Wayne Gaynor of Atwood, Colorado; Four sisters, Mrs. Viola Freze, Stockton, Missouri; Mrs. Ben Melchor of Excelsior Springs, Mo., Mrs. Ethel Thurman of Burlington, Washington; Mrs. Jessie Lester of Springfield, Missouri. Two brothers, Rev. DeWitt Beery of Roanoke, Virginia. Rev. John Beery of Austin, Texas. Also eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Beery were held Monday afternoon, Nov. 14, at the Methodist church in Center with Olive Branch Lodge No. 32, AF &AM of Saguache in charge. Rev. LeRoy King delivered the services with Rev. Alvah Lynch assisting. A male quartet composed of Rev. Lynch, Eldon Mathias, Jack Sylvester and Sam Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Lynch, sang "Abide With Me" and "Have Thine Own Way Lord."
Pall bearers were R.W. Shellebarger [Shellabarger], Otto Werner, Ross Pryor, Jud Davey, Sidney Hall and W.R. [Shellabarger]. Burial was made in Hillside Cemetery in Saguache."

R. J. Sanders 1847-1912 buried in Vinita, Oklahoma # 76354887 could be a brother of John.
