Elmer E. and Alice (Thompson) Grosvenor, 9 North 49 West

Elmer Ellsworth Grosvenor was born on 30 October 1870 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa. He moved circa 1872 to Osceola, Polk County, Nebraska, with his parents James and Mary.
He moved in 1884 to Ellsworth County, Kansas, with his parents James and Mary.
He was on the 1885 Iowa Census of Ashmead Post Office, Green Garden Township, Ellsworth County, Kansas, in the household of his parents, James McCurdy Grosvenor and Mary Jane Jones, attending school.
They moved in 1887 to Cheyenne County, Nebraska, with his parents James and Mary.
Elmer married Alice Nettie Thompson, daughter of Roger F. Thompson and Lucy Chamberlain Holcomb, on 12 April 1896 in Curtis, Frontier County, Nebraska.
Elmer was a veteran of the Spanish American War of 1898.
In 1880 Polk County, Nebraska, James and Mary "Gravner" have Dora 18, Rosalie 16, Adda 14, William 11, ELMER 8, James W. 5, Elizabeth 3, and Francis H. seven months.
In 1900 Frontier County, Nebraska, Elmer is a hotel keeper, born Oct 1870 in Iowa, with Alice Oct 1874 Kansas, Charles April 1897 Nebraska.

In 1910 Logan County, Elmer is farming, 39, Iowa, married 14 years to Alice N. 36, Kansas. Chas. R. 13, Maude 6, and Harold three months were all born in Nebraska.

Charles Randall Grosvenor registered for WWI in Logan County, born April 7, 1896 at Curtis, Nebraska. He said his father was Elmer Ellsworth Grosvenor, born at Bloomfield Iowa.

Elmer proved up a quarter in 31, 9N 49W in 1918.
In 1920 they're in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho with Maud, William, Dorothy, and mother Mary, 77.
In 1930 Coeur d'Alene, Elmer is a fireman in a box factory, with Alice 56, Dorothy 15, and grandson Kenneth Beals 4, born in Washington (Lena's son).
In 1940 Elmer is a landscape gardener, with Alice living at 310 W. Linden Avenue in Coeur d'Alene.
Elmer 1870-1951 # 70819256 and Alice Nettie Thompson Grosvenor 1874-1950 are buried in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
