I'm Vicki Conklin viconk@chase3000.com,
the Phillips County COGenWeb coordinator. I live in Holyoke, CO in
Phillips County where members of my family have lived since 1897, a
few years after the county was formed. This is the perfect location
for me to combine my love of genealogy, research and local history!
Please feel
free to contact me for lookups. I have hopes of enlisitng
others to help compile Phillips County information to be included on
this site..... all volunteers welcome!

Historical Facts about Phillips County
Phillips County was formed
from the south-eastern part of Logan County, March 27, 1889.
It
was named in honor of R. O. Phillips, who was Secretary of the
land company which laid out a number of the towns in eastern
Colorado.
Holyoke
was incorporated in 1888, and was made the county seat at an
election held in November 1889.
