The surname has been spelled various ways over the years, SOMMERVILLE/SOMERVILLE/SUMMERVILLE/SOMERVEEL are just a few of them. She was born in Dolitz Prussia (Germany) September 24, 1833. She died in Avon, Eagle, Colorado on March 30, 1905 and was buried in Edwards Cemetery, Eagle, Colorado on April 1, 1905. She had been married to John SOMMERVILLE from 1860 until his death in 1894. They were one set of gg-grandparents. Would love any/all information. Either by post or by direct email.

He was stationed in Co. during WW2 and he married and girl named Ruby. The last address that I have been able to find was Pando, Co. I would appreciate any information anyone may have him. This was a half-brother of my mothers. After the war he never returned back home to Louisiana. I am doing this really for my Mother because up to the day of her death she wanted to hear from him. I have newspaper articles saying that then joined a relative Herman Thoborg in Eagle. Does anyone know anything about how they are related? Vickie Claybaugh ----October 1999Am looking for information on my ggrandfather, Mathew MOORE. He and wife Elizabeth arrived in Eagle county, settling in Wolcott, in the late 1880's. They had three children when they moved to Wolcott: Della MOORE, Almer MOORE (my grandfather), and Edgar MOORE. A fourth child, GLEN, was born in Eagle County. Mathew MOORE died in 1920 in Eagle County. Elizabeth MOORE died in Mesa County. Both are buried in Sunset View Cemetery. I am especially interested in obituaries. Vicki King---Friday 30 July 1999Seeking information on descendants of Leander S ROCKWELL b 10 Mar 1848 in Highgate, Franklin Co, VT d 18 Feb 1928 Grand Junction, Mesa Co, CO. Leander and his first wife Nancy SANDERS had several children but the only names I have so far are: Anna Elizabeth ROCKWELL who married Fred RANSDELL on 20 Mar 1895 at Reeders Mill in Harrison Co IA, Leola Grace ROCKWELL and Ralph Elmer ROCKWELL. Leola and Ralph are buried in Eagle, CO. Leander's parents were Samuel and Eunice (RICE) ROCKWELL who are buried in Friends Cemetery in New Sharon, Mahaska Co, IA. I am descended from Leander's brother Edmund. I have a lot of ROCKWELL family information to share if anyone is interested in this family.

Susan K----Tuesday 20 July 1999I'm trying to find ELLIOTT, Charles P. My grandfather divorced my grandmother in NE. in 1913 and went to CO. He remarried and lived in the Eagle, Gunnison, Pitkin, Delta, Mesa, Garfield area. His death notice mentioned the town of Paonia, however he lived in a cabin in a remote area. He would have lived in CO. area from 1913-1935/45. Story is that he played piano in mining towns in that area. Would love to find out more about him!! Thanks!!

Mike DAY-----Wednesday 31 March 1999My grandmother's uncle, Peter and Melissa HORN left Bailey, Park County, Colorado about 1881 and moved to the area of McCoy, Eagle County, Colorado, where they lived until about 1901, when they moved to Rifle. Their children were Ida B. HORN, who married a JONES, Mary E. HORN, who married 1st a RUSSELL and 2nd a BECKWITH, Charles HORN, who's marital status is unknown, Maud L. HORN, who married a FREEMAN, Walter Cleveland HORN, who married Mary B. ______ and had Robert, born 1913 and Margaret born 1915. Walter died in flu epidemic of 1918. Mabel I HORN married a BERNKLAU. Arthur Leonard HORN, born 1882 and died 1934, married Lula Idella GRAVES, born 1887, died 1977, had sons Harold Gilbert HORN, born 1906 died 1990, married Mabel ANDERSON and had a daughter, Gail. Arthur "Leonard" HORN, born 1909 died 1985, married Marie TUYLS and later divorced?. Daughters, Josephine, married William MONROE, and Jan Marie HORN, married Donald GATES, who died in 1966 and later married Maynard SMITH. Leonard might have been the only one who remained in Eagle County, when Peter moved to Rifle in 1901.
Dan Hunter-----Monday 7 December 1998Need info on Alice HUNTER, b. May 1892 in Red Cliff, Eagle Co, Colorado. She was the daughter of Robert HUNTER, b. 22 Mar 1867 in Ireland d. 18 Nov 1894 and is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery, Red Cliff. Alice m. J. R. Livingston. Where and when? She was at the funeral of her uncle in 1927 and the obit said that she was living in San Francisco. Any help would be most appreciated.
Larry HARLAN-----Sunday 27 September 1998LOVE-----Looking for information on J. W. LOVE living in Brush Creek at the term of the 19th Century. My G Grandfather, John Wood HARLAN passed away at J.W.'s home January of 1898. Mr. LOVE's wife passed away just six months later.
J. W. LOVE and John Wood HARLAN are both buried in Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle. HARLAN was misspelled HARLON.

Shelley----Friday 18 September 1998Searching these names in and around Eagle county: CARTEEN, BROGAN, DOVER, WILLIAMS, MAXSON Looking for information on the CARTEEN family. Most of the family is in the 1880 census for Custer Co. Peter and Melissa CARTEEN had several children. John, William, Minnie, Martha, Alice, Josephine, Peter and Lars. The last info I can find is of Hattie. I found an obituary in the Eagle county Blade 1907, where she was married to a Robert BROGAN and having a young child from a previous marriage called little Arthur DOVER. She was living in Red Cliff at the time. I see no mention of her father, and brother Lars. Also I see her mother, Melissa, must have remarried as her name was listed as Mrs. T. F. WILLIAMS. I do know about Alice as she is great grandmother of my husband and married Orelnzer Stephen MAXSON, but the rest of the family kind of disappeared. I would appreciate any information.
Randy MOSHER---Wednesday 2 September 1998QUINLAN. Looking for information about Agnes Quinlan and her family. Agnes married James Lawrence Mosher. Her folks came over from Leadville after the silver bust I believe and homesteaded on what is now part of I-70 heading into the Glenwood canyon a few miles East of Dotsero. (Cabin ruins can still be seen north of I-70) I'm looking for information about Agnes' siblings, I think she had a sister named Sarah, but don't know anything about her folks or other siblings. I am looking for information regarding John/Jack(b.1849-MO.) and Katherine/Kate(b.1853-KY.)BURNS. Their children were Bertha Mae(b.2-14-1875, m.12-04-1891 to EdwardBLACK,D.7-22-1922). Robert(b.7-23-1877, Fanny(b.9-13-1878, m. ROBINSON), Ella(b.5-14-1881, m. Joseph METHERD), Kitty(b.3-4-1884),Willie(b.3-13-1886),Minnie(b.8-14-1887 went by the last name of DU BOS), and Gertrude(b.11-23-1889, m. JOHNSON) The mother Kate BURNS died on Dec. 2, 1889, two wks. after givingbirth to Gertrude. She died in GILMAN and was supposedly buried in REDCLIFF. The children were then given away to various families to raise. My g-grandfather Robert BURNS was given to the John LOVE family of Eagle.John/Jack BURNS was said to be a rogue, gambler and miner. Kate (mother) was a runawayfrom a wagon train. They hid out in the Rockies supposedly afraid of her fatherand two brothers. On their marriage license from Denver she lists her maiden name as SUSANE. I have also heard it was SUSAN, SOUSA, DE SOUSA, and COUSINS.
